Job summary

CEC Healthcare in Glen Head, NY is seeking a compassionate Senior Community Residence Counselor to support individuals in our OMH residential programs. This full-time role offers hands-on experience in behavioral health and human services within a mission-driven, not-for-profit setting.

You will participate in person-centered planning, documentation, and on-call coverage, with Tuesday–Saturday shifts including an occasional evening and weekend commitment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Human Services.
• Valid NY State driver’s license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality services are provided to each person supported through person-centered planning and maximize opportunities for integration with the community.
• Assist the Supervisor in monitoring and documenting the delivery of all services.
• Implementation of person supported behavioral support plans/strategies and documentation of person supported behaviors.
• Participate in the departmental on-call system including remaining on-call for the work week and participate in the weekend on-call system.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of staffing plans to ensure each person’s health and safety, including the possibility of providing direct care when necessary.

Shift Availability

Tuesday through Saturday Requires one evening shift per week (3:30 PM–11:0 PM); one weekend shift (11:00 AM-6:30 PM); remaining shifts are 10:30 AM–6:00 PM with a 30-minute break.
