Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to lead PR and media relations, elevating the firm's reputation across practices, sectors, and markets. You will collaborate with lawyers, firm leaders, and external agencies to craft strategic communications.

You will identify stories, develop media strategies, build journalist relationships, and guide messaging and interview preparation. The role sits in a hybrid environment with US offices and requires leadership in rapid, high-stakes

Qualifications

8 years of experience in marketing, public relations or similar field.
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communication, journalism or related field.
Experience in a law firm or professional services organization preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and leads public relations initiatives that raise the firm’s profile across practices and markets.
Builds relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure commentary opportunities.
Provides strategic media counsel to firm leaders and lawyers on messaging and interview prep.
Develops media pitches, briefing materials, key messages, talking points, and press releases.
Monitors media trends to identify opportunities and issues for the firm and clients.
Collaborates with external PR agencies to align strategies and campaigns.
Coordinates with Communications, Marketing, Business Development, Digital and other teams.
Contributes to special external communications projects as needed.
