Job description

Job Description

At Oracle, we’re building the technologies that are transforming how the world works—from AI and cloud infrastructure to healthcare, finance, and global enterprise systems. We’re looking for a strategic communications leader who can turn complex engineering innovation into compelling stories that resonate with customers, developers, executives, media, and employees alike.

As a Senior Communications Strategist supporting Engineering, you will partner closely with engineering leaders, product teams, marketing, and executive stakeholders to shape narratives that elevate Oracle’s technology leadership. This role blends storytelling, strategic messaging, editorial excellence, and integrated communications to drive clarity, engagement, and business impact.

The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller, strategist, and operator—someone who can simplify highly technical concepts into memorable narratives while influencing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. This role reflects the type of strategic storytelling and technical narrative leadership emphasized across Oracle communications and content strategy roles.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute communications strategies that support engineering, product, and corporate priorities.
  • Translate complex technical concepts—including AI, cloud infrastructure, platforms, and emerging technologies—into clear, compelling, and audience-focused narratives.
  • Create messaging frameworks, executive narratives, and storytelling strategies that align across internal and external channels.
  • Partner with engineering executives and technical teams to identify innovation stories, customer impact, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Write and edit high-impact communications materials including blogs, executive talking points, keynote content, customer stories, presentations, social posts, white papers, FAQs, newsletters, and organizational updates.
  • Drive editorial consistency and message alignment across product marketing, communications, analyst relations, social, and leadership communications teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, marketing, HR, and executive leadership to support launches, organizational initiatives, and strategic programs.
  • Help shape Oracle’s voice in technical storytelling by bringing a human-centered, customer-focused perspective to engineering innovation.
  • Manage communications plans, timelines, and stakeholder reviews across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Measure communications effectiveness and continuously optimize messaging, engagement, and reach.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, corporate communications, product marketing, technical writing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing executive communications, strategic messaging, and storytelling for senior leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Experience partnering with engineering, product, or other technical teams in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop messaging strategies and create high-quality content for executive, internal, customer, and external audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and operate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and editorial skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, storytelling, content strategy, product marketing, journalism, public relations, or executive communications.
  • Proven ability to translate technical or engineering-focused topics into accessible, engaging stories.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with strong editorial judgment.
  • Experience building messaging strategies and narrative frameworks for enterprise technology audiences.
  • Strong understanding of integrated communications, digital content strategy, and executive positioning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technical executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and high visibility initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strategic storytelling, technical writing, campaign messaging, or executive communications.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will bring a blend of:

  • Strategic storytelling and narrative development
  • Executive communications and messaging strategy
