Job summary

JLL in Rio Rancho, NM seeks an experienced Commissioning Project Manager to lead testing, validation, and handover of complex mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems, ensuring they operate safely and per design specifications.

You will manage the full commissioning lifecycle, coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and client executives while mentoring engineers and field staff to uphold safety, quality, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in commissioning, MEP, or mission-critical project management.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of low/medium voltage power, HVAC, and building controls (BMS).
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight.
• Proven leadership mentoring engineers and field staff.
• Experience with mission-critical facilities such as data centers or industrial operations.

Responsibilities

• Build commissioning plans, correction requirements, milestones, and documentation from design through turnover.
• Oversee functional performance testing and IST for MEP and life-safety systems.
• Coordinate project activities between general contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and client executives.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and financial oversight; monitor profit margins and allocate resources.
• Mentor commissioning engineers and field staff, enforcing safety and quality standards.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure systems meet operational requirements before handover.
• Develop and deliver training and documentation for new systems.
