As part of the team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside diverse industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated systems based on program and schematic design information.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Develops sequencing requirements for systems and provides solutions to meet schedules.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and expectations are met.
  • Assists with shop drawings/submittals to comply with contract documents.
  • Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Senior M/E Engineer

  • Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develops budget estimates based on design information.
  • Reviews options, performs systems analysis, and recommends best systems with value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviews design documents for quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
  • Performs inspections to ensure quality and specifications.
  • Develops and verifies functional testing procedures and contractor performance.
  • Reviews and approves shop drawings.
  • Generates and manages commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Mentors less experienced colleagues and develops innovative tools and solutions.
  • Negotiates subcontracts, purchases equipment, and builds client relationships.
  • Participates in business development, representing the department externally.
  • Leads diversity and inclusion initiatives within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction technology.
  • Understanding of plans, drawings, specifications, and project processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage budgets and teams.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field required.
  • 10+ years construction management experience preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
