JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside a diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
- Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction, completing systems analysis for select projects.
- Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
- Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection process.
- Helps develop sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met, and work is completed in a timely manner.
- Assists with shop drawing/submittal process to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Supports the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and conducting functional testing.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
- Completes increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
- Develops budget estimates based on program and schematic design info.
- Reviews options, completes systems analysis, recommends best systems, and suggests value engineering.
- Coordinates scopes of work during bidding, develops sequencing requirements, and provides scheduling input.
- Reviews design documents, identifies quality issues, and helps develop quality control programs.
- Performs job inspections to ensure quality and specifications.
- Develops pre-functional checklists and verifies contractor performance.
- Reviews and approves shop drawings.
- Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan.
- Verifies deficiencies are corrected and submits documentation.
- Mentors less experienced team members.
- Creates tools and solutions to improve processes.
- Negotiates subcontracts, purchases equipment, and builds client relationships.
- Participates in interviews, presentations, and community events.
- Manages resource allocation and staffing for projects.
- Leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work accurately and timely.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office and construction M/E tools.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of project processes and construction management fundamentals.
- Relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, BIM, and Lean principles.
- Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and develop future work.
- Knowledge of ASE and Lens software.
- Capability to manage projects from start to finish, including budgeting and estimating.
- Support marketing activities and team management skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
- Equivalent relevant experience considered.
Experience
- 10+ years of construction management experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
