JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  1. Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  2. Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  3. Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  4. Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  5. Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  6. Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  7. Assists in developing sequencing requirements for systems to meet schedule requirements.
  8. Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  9. Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and expectations are met.
  10. Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  11. Assists with commissioning processes including developing checklists and testing procedures.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
  1. Completes more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  2. Develops budget estimates based on design information.
  3. Reviews options, completes systems analysis, and provides value engineering suggestions.
  4. Coordinates scopes during bid process and develops sequencing requirements.
  5. Reviews design documents to identify quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
  6. Performs inspections and develops testing procedures.
  7. Develops commissioning plans and verifies performance.
  8. Mentors less experienced colleagues and promotes innovative solutions.
  9. Negotiates subcontracts and manages equipment purchases.
  10. Builds client relationships and participates in business development.
  11. Represents the department externally and ensures resource allocation.
  12. Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction technology.
  • Understanding of plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage budgets, build relationships, and lead teams.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field required.

Experience
  • 10+ years construction management preferred.

Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license required.
