JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) integrates Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into a high-performing team focused on cutting-edge projects for clients in large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor sectors. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, advancing your career alongside diverse industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of safety and quality plans, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated systems based on program and schematic design info.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and conducts systems analysis for projects.
  • Learns to develop scopes of work for mechanical and electrical systems for the bid process.
  • Assists with bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Helps develop sequencing plans to meet schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and assist in constructability reviews.
  • Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Supports shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Assists with commissioning, including checklists and functional testing.
Additional Responsibilities - Senior M/E Engineer
  • Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develops detailed estimates and reviews design options, providing value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinates scopes during bidding, develops sequencing, and provides scheduling input.
  • Reviews design documents, identifies quality issues, and helps develop quality control programs.
  • Conducts job inspections, develops testing procedures, and verifies contractor performance.
  • Prepares and approves commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Mentors less experienced team members and develops innovative tools for process improvement.
  • Negotiates subcontracts and manages equipment procurement.
  • Builds client relationships and participates in business development activities.
  • Represents the department externally and ensures resource allocation and staffing are optimal.
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, timely, and with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, construction technology, scheduling software, and BIM.
  • Strong understanding of project processes, budgets, and relationship building.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish and lead teams.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 10+ years of construction management experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
