JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection process.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements and solutions to meet schedule needs.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and expectations are met.
  • Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Senior M/E Engineer

In addition, this role will be responsible for:

  • Completing complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Developing budget estimates based on design info.
  • Reviewing options, recommending systems, and providing value engineering.
  • Coordinating scopes during bid and developing sequencing and schedule solutions.
  • Reviewing design documents for quality and developing control programs.
  • Performing inspections and developing testing procedures.
  • Reviewing and approving shop drawings.
  • Generating and managing commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Creating tools and solutions for process improvements.
  • Negotiating subcontracts and purchasing equipment.
  • Building client relationships, participating in interviews, and representing JE Dunn externally.
  • Managing resource allocation and staffing.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion policies throughout the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work accurately, completely, and timely.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction technology.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • 10+ years construction management experience preferred.
