Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to lead startup and commissioning of critical center equipment, including power distribution, UPS, BAS/BMS, and HVAC systems. The role requires 7 years in electrical/mechanical fields, an AA degree, and strong problem-solving skills.

The position involves remote work with significant travel to client locations for training and project execution; strong communication and coordination with clients and vendors are essential.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree or military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing construction and operational problems.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Willingness to travel 75% and work remotely when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Conduct construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Train plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain communication with clients and project team members.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet budgets and schedules.
