Job summary

Garmac Limited LLC is seeking a Commissioning Engineer with a mechanical/chiller focus to join our on-site team in Montgomery, Alabama. You will support startup, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on large-scale data center projects, working with engineering leads and trade partners.

The role requires hands-on experience with chillers, valves, rooftop units, fan arrays, PLC controls, Modbus communications, and point-to-point Level 3 testing, with relocation or travel as needed.

Qualifications

Mid-level to senior experience in mechanical commissioning, HVAC controls.
Chiller startup, staging, and troubleshooting depth.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and electrical prints (Schneider preferred).

Responsibilities

Commission and troubleshoot chillers, valve systems, rooftops, and fans.
Perform Level 3 point-to-point testing and verify hard-wired IO from field devices to control panels.
Diagnose PLC and Modbus issues; retrieve programs, make supervised edits, and download revised logic.
Document deficiencies, confirm corrective work, and support safe turnover.
Coordinate daily with commissioning leads, controls engineers, vendors, and site teams.
