Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Commissioning Engineer IV to support commissioning, RCx, and energy audit projects. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 10+ years in HVAC/building operations, and the ability to lead fieldwork and customer interactions.

The senior engineer will manage projects, perform tests, and contribute to business development while collaborating with the Performance Group. Travel up to 25% is expected. Candidates with AutoCAD and Revit experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in HVAC/construction fields.
• Experience with building operations and commissioning, re/RCx, or energy audits.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to produce technical reports.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD; preferred credentials include NEBB Building Systems Commissioning Certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, re/retro-commissioning, and energy audits for projects.
• Perform HVAC functional tests (TAB) and witness other systems tests.
• Create and execute project plans, manage budgets, and report progress.
• Interact with customers and contractors; lead commissioning meetings and action-item tracking.
• Review MEP submittals for conformance and support business development activities.
