Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of direct building commissioning experience.
• Strong mechanical/HVAC commissioning background.

• Experience reviewing MEP drawings, specifications and equipment submittals.
• Experience developing and executing functional performance tests.
• Experience commissioning mechanical equipment, including large central plants.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, IECC, LEED and NYC/local codes.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established building performance and commissioning company in New York, that focuses on making buildings safe, healthy, resilient and sustainable. We are looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to lead commissioning projects from planning through to completion, working closely with clients, contractors and internal engineering teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical work, project management and client interaction, while working across a diverse range of commercial and complex building projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

What We're Looking For

• 5–8+ years of direct building commissioning experience
• Strong mechanical/HVAC commissioning background
• Experience working with BAS/BMS and building controls
• Experience reviewing MEP drawings, specifications and equipment submittals
• Experience developing and executing functional performance tests
• Experience commissioning mechanical equipment, including large central plants
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, IECC, LEED and applicable NYC/local codes
• Comfortable working independently across multiple projects
• Strong client-facing and project management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred

Commissioning certifications such as BCxP, CCP, CxA or equivalent are highly desirable.
