What We Do

First American is looking to add a Commercial Title Examiner working remote. Do you enjoy searching public records and examining titles to determine the legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property titles? You will be working on varied and complex assignments requiring broad and deep experience with different property types. Acting as a resource to less experienced team members, with increased knowledge of state requirements. Projects can involve multi-million-dollar commercial properties that may take days or weeks to complete.

Must have Title search & examining experience in Los Angeles, County CA.

What You’ll Do

• Search and examine chains of title primarily for commercial land.
• Perform title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of expertise.
• Abstract and analyze records such as leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books. Determine ownership, legal restrictions, and verify legal descriptions, including for multi-site properties.
• Write title products based on interpretation and application of procedural guidelines.
• Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
• May have customer contact.

What You’ll Bring

• Problem solver with strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, eager to learn.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to adapt to new software and technologies.
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents.
• Ability to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders.
• Wind and Solar experience a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Title experience.
• Multiple state licenses as required.
• 6+ years of directly related experience.
• Must have Title search & examining experience in Los Angeles County, CA.

Pay Range: $30.14-$40.18 Hourly.

This hiring range is an estimate of the base pay at the time of posting. Pay depends on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and location.
