Job summary

Billingsley-Company seeks a Senior Commercial Portfolio Accountant to own full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of office, industrial and retail properties. You will prepare statements, reconcile CAM/expenses, and support budgets and forecasts while ensuring accuracy for ownership and lenders.

The role requires GAAP proficiency, CRE accounting experience, and collaboration with property management, auditors, and lenders. CPA is a plus, with opportunities to grow with the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in commercial real estate.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and real estate accounting exposure.
• Experience with Yardi or MRI and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting for a commercial portfolio including journal entries and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for ownership review.
• Reconcile CAM and operating expenses with annual true-ups and tenant billing.
• Perform lease abstraction and revenue recognition including straight-line rent.
• Partner with property management on budgets and reforecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis with explanations for owners and lenders.
• Support year-end audits and lender reporting.
• Maintain records for joint ventures and partnerships.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes and controls.
