The hourly rate for this opportunity is $44.38-$53.26 per hour.
Responsibilities Include:
- Review tax returns and/or financial statements to prepare detailed and effective annual review memos to report on covenant compliance in accordance with loan documents. Analysis will focus on repayment sources, cash flow - business and global, historical trends, tenancy/leases, guarantors (entity and personal), industry / asset risks, and relationship exposure. Identify key risks and mitigants of a particular loan and document conclusions / recommendations clearly and concisely, and assign risk ratings commensurate with the Borrower’s credit risk profile. Ensure loans are reported properly in Bethpage’s commercial lending and core systems. Proactively monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating loans and report to senior management timely.
- Generate annual review letters to request annual reporting requirements for loans within one’s assigned Annual Review portfolio. This includes proactively working with borrowers and relationship managers directly to obtain the necessary information, monitoring compliance, and updating one’s pipeline with the information received and requests made.
- Proactively work with commercial lending operations, sales, servicing and workout teams, vendors, legal counsel and loan participants to provide the best employee and member experience/service. This includes timely addressing off-cycle loan requests, inclusive of lease analysis, escrow holdback releases in accordance with the loan documents, change in ownership, release / replacement of guarantors, etc. This also includes setting proper expectations with all parties, obtaining appropriate approval as outlined in our credit policy, and potentially participant approval.
- Learn Bethpage’s core system, DNA, to extract Borrower, Guarantor and Loan information and process transactions after loan origination (i.e. escrow releases, draw requests, etc.). Develop competency in Bethpage’s Commercial Loan Portfolio Management system.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required, including systems testing, periodic audits, etc.
Qualifications
- Competent in spreading of business and personal tax returns and/or financial statements, and related Borrower, Personal and Global Cash flow analyses.
- Understanding of Commercial Real Estate lending and asset classes preferred.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey concepts concisely and clearly to Borrowers and Management.
- Strong interpersonal skills a must, works well in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee a large loan portfolio and manage priorities to meet deadlines successfully.
- Coding / application development skills a plus.
- Desire to work in an agile environment for a fast-growing financial institution.
- Competency in understanding CRE loan documentation.
- Experience with SBA and Construction Lending a plus.

Education
Bachelors or better in Finance or related field.
Experience
2+ years in Commercial Lending, including familiarity with business and personal tax returns and/or financial statements.
