Job summary

Friedman Williams seeks a Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney with approximately 10+ years of experience to join its expanding litigation practice in Roseland, NJ. The attorney will independently manage sophisticated disputes, develop strategy, and supervise junior attorneys while collaborating with seasoned partners.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (four days in office, one remote day weekly) with a base salary around $190,000–$210,000, plus discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of substantive business and commercial litigation experience.
• New Jersey Bar admission required; New York Bar admission is a plus.
• Trial experience strongly preferred.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex business and commercial litigation matters from inception through trial, settlement, or other resolution.
• Represent clients in contract disputes, vendor agreement litigation, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, unfair competition, and partnership/LLC disputes.
• Handle Chancery Division proceedings, including orders to show cause and equitable relief requests.
• Develop case strategy and oversee pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, mediation/arbitration, and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue substantive motions and briefs in NJ state and federal courts.
• Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals throughout the litigation process.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and litigation support professionals.
• Assist with construction-related litigation and contract review or negotiation as appropriate.
