Job summary

Friedman Williams, a respected AmLaw 200 law firm, seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate in New York with 4+ years of experience to handle substantive matters in a growing NYC office. You will draft pleadings, participate in depositions, manage discovery, and work with partners on strategy while maintaining client relationships and delivering practical advocacy.

Hybrid work arrangement: four days in the office and one remote day weekly, with a meaningful billable-hours target and strong growth

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of substantive litigation experience, preferably commercial/complex civil litigation.
• New York Bar admission required, or eligible for admission.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters in New York state and federal courts.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop arguments involving complex disputes.
• Manage written discovery, document production, and eDiscovery processes.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, court conferences, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Assist with developing litigation strategy, evaluating claims/defenses, and preparing matters for trial.
