Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. in Houston, TX seeks an experienced HVAC service technician to support complex commercial systems. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain RTUs, chillers, boilers, and large-scale controls, and lead service calls from dispatch through completion.

The role requires 5+ years, journeyman proficiency, EPA 608, and strong safety/documentation discipline. This position offers opportunities to contribute to energy efficiency projects and system upgrades while upholding safety

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive hands-on commercial HVAC service experience.
Journeyman-level proficiency in diagnosing and resolving advanced system issues independently.
EPA Section 608 certification (Universal strongly preferred).
Physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces and at heights.
Commitment to safety, OSHA regulations, and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, and large-scale controls.
Perform major component replacements, refrigerant handling, system balancing, startup/commissioning, and retrofits.
Conduct preventive maintenance and performance testing to improve energy efficiency and reduce downtime.
Lead full service calls from dispatch to completion and communicate findings and recommendations to customers.
Ensure compliance with codes, EPA requirements, and Modigent safety standards; maintain thorough records.
