Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical is seeking a seasoned Commercial HVAC Service Technician for its Chicago area operations. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including 15+ ton units, and will maintain proactive PM schedules while delivering exceptional customer service.

Applicants should hold an active EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver’s license, and be prepared for flexible hours and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License w/acceptable driving record.
• Active EPA Universal Certification.
• 3+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting.
• OSHA 10 Certification, preferred.
• Manufacturer Certification is preferred.
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose causes of problems and failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment, for repair/replacement needs with no mistakes.
• Perform maintenance and service repairs, install new units, or replace parts of existing units according to specifications of 15 tons+.
• Maintain larger PM contracts with more than 5 units.
• Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls.
• Service and troubleshoot mini-splits and/or replace smaller RTU’s and mini-splits for 15 tons or less.
• Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for customers.
• Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered.
