Job summary

Cortez Heating & Air Conditioning in Florida seeks a Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems for commercial clients. You will perform preventive maintenance, handle emergency service calls, document work, and ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/EPA standards. An experienced technician with EPA 608 and 5–10 years will thrive in our team.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• Certifications such as NATE, RSES, or OEM trainings are a plus.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/refrigeration issues on commercial systems (RTUs, VRF, air handlers).
• Inspect/repair compressors, motors, belts, sensors, and control boards.
• Use meters, leak detectors, and gauges to pinpoint failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance: filters, coils, lubrication, belts, refrigerant checks.
• Document conditions and recommend corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Complete digital service tickets with notes and labor hours.
