The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial estimating experience, a broad range of trade knowledge, and strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience across all trades, not limited to one specialty.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, labor, and subs pricing.
• Experience with drawings, specs, takeoffs, and cost estimating.
• Ability to develop complete estimates from plans and specs.
• Ability to evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Construction-related education or equivalent industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial projects across trades and scopes.
• Review drawings, specs, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate costs (labor, materials, equipment, subs).
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Ensure estimates cover all scopes and identify gaps and risks.
• Develop competitive bids within deadlines.
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, subs, vendors, and clients.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Review estimates for accuracy, profitability, and completeness.
• Maintain estimating records and pricing data; manage multiple estimates.
