Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking an experienced commercial construction estimator to manage projects from bid through contract execution, with emphasis on interior tenant fit-outs and retail fit-outs.

You will prepare estimates, review drawings, develop schedules, issue RFIs, negotiate with subcontractors, and coordinate with clients. Hybrid work, reside within 50 miles of office, some travel.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in commercial construction.
• 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Experience with interior tenant fit-outs required.
• Retail tenant fit-out experience preferred.
• Some ground-up construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings and bid documents to identify requirements.
• Prepare and maintain construction schedules.
• Develop and issue RFIs relating to drawings and bid documents.
• Negotiate final contracts with subcontractors on scope, pricing, and terms.
• Interact professionally with clients and subcontractors throughout the process.
• Travel as required.
