Vortex Doors in Eastover, SC is seeking an Experienced Commercial Door Technician with 4+ years in the door industry. You will install, repair, and service commercial doors, docks, and related hardware, ensuring safety and code compliance on customer sites.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain repair options to customers. A company vehicle, uniform and tools are provided as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years’ experience in the commercial door service industry.
• AAADM certified a plus.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware; excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Physically able to move items weighing 50 lbs. or higher.
• Ability to lift, climb ladders up to 20’ and use power tools.
• Interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to relay information in fast-paced environments.
• Persuasive when needed to guide customer decisions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Reading tape measures accurately for precise installations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols.
• Knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of commercial doors, docks, and related hardware.
• Diagnose and repair door-related issues; welding training available.
• Install and configure door hardware including locks, closers, low-voltage, and access control systems.
• Ensure all installed doors meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and explaining repair processes.
• Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues and communicate cost-effective solutions to customers.
• Perform quality checks on installations and repairs to meet quality standards.
