Job summary

Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is seeking a Commercial Credit Underwriting & Operations Manager to lead the credit and operating infrastructure for our Commercial and Business Banking portfolio. This role oversees underwriting, loan documentation, servicing, credit administration, and business lending support, ensuring timely approval through portfolio management with strong member experience.

The position is based at HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.

Qualifications

• 5+ years related experience in commercial banking.
• 2+ years of supervisory or people-leadership experience.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement and tax-return analysis, cash-flow analysis, loan structuring, collateral evaluation.
• Sound commercial credit judgment with ability to explain decisions to partners and leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• Experience implementing lending technology, workflow automation, or data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting, loan documentation, servicing, and credit administration functions.
• Oversee annual reviews, covenant monitoring, risk ratings, and portfolio-management activities.
• Modernize underwriting and lending operations through process improvements and technology.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation, closing, servicing, and collateral administration.
• Collaborate with relationship managers to ensure responsive member service and sound decisions.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team and leadership bench.
