Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Commercial Credit Lead in Boston to assess and manage credit risk for commercial clients. You will analyze financial statements, structure credit solutions, negotiate documents, and obtain credit approvals while ensuring compliance with policy.

In this individual contributor role, you will collaborate with relationship managers, risk officers, and other stakeholders, perform cash flow analyses, prepare risk assessments, and support ongoing CCM activities across loan

Qualifications

• Underwrite new requests and material modifications through approval.
• Monitor ongoing credit risk with CCM activities.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, due diligence, and industry data to support credit decisions.
• Prepare independent credit analyses with risk ratings, mitigants, and market trends.
• Ensure adherence to credit policy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new requests and modifications from deal screen through approval.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify emerging credit risk for timely actions.
• Review financial data and related materials to complete analyses and risk assessments.
• Prepare cash flow, collateral schedules and covenant sensitivity calculations.
• Attend client/prospect calls with RMs to understand business and inform underwriting.
• Present analysis and recommendations during credit discussions and committee meetings.
