What You'll Do:
  1. Responsible for the preparation of quality, detailed financial analysis including cash flow models and collateral evaluations to identify potential credit risks.
  2. Evaluate complex financial statements to spread and analyze in order to prepare credit presentations.
  3. Mentor and assist in training less experienced commercial credit analysts.
  4. Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices to minimize risk exposure.
  5. Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures.
  6. Partner with the Commercial Lender, Portfolio Managers, or Team Leader to monitor the loan portfolio.
  7. Participate in on-site client meetings with the Commercial Lender, Portfolio Managers, or Team Leader.
  8. Review appraisals to ensure compliance with federal regulations and soundness of analysis.
  9. Conduct independent research and analyze market conditions to assess collateral values.
  10. Maintain the bank's commercial credit tickler system, tracking financial statements, covenants, and customer reporting.
  11. Assist in underwriting requests, review loan presentations, and take minutes for loan committees when applicable.
  12. Complete special projects as assigned by senior management.
Expectations of the Role:
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and credit analysis concepts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, proactive environment and add value to clients.
  • Understanding of small business, middle-market commercial businesses, and owner-occupied real estate.
  • Ability to take ownership of personal development and work independently.
  • Prepare accurate and timely loan presentations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Bank's Lending Policy.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers to enhance the bank's marketing efforts.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 years of Commercial Credit Analyst experience focusing on C & I loans.
  • Strong qualitative analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and internet proficiency.
  • Experience with Sageworks Risk Analyst is preferred.
