Job summary

National Community Renaissance seeks a Commercial Counsel to support its Legal Department, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements across the enterprise. The attorney will work with property management, vendor management, resident services, development, construction, IT, and other leaders.

The role demands independent handling of substantial contract volume, strategic advice, and in-house risk allocation, with emphasis on housing operations, nonprofit context, and affiliated entities.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience negotiating large-volume contracts and vendor/real estate related documents.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements from intake through execution support.
• Draft and negotiate property management, vendor, resident services, and real estate/ construction agreements.
• Provide guidance on risk allocation, insurance, confidentiality, and data protection terms.
• Coordinate outside counsel and advise internal clients on contract performance and amendments.
