Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets is seeking a seasoned commercial counsel to drive revenue contracts with public agencies and transportation firms. This Director role reports to the General Counsel and will collaborate with the sales/origination team to move from negotiations to executed contracts.

The ideal candidate has 8–10+ years of legal experience including supervisory roles and experience in transportation, fleet leasing, or energy services.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years as a practicing attorney.
• JD with membership in at least one U.S. state bar (MA preferred).
• Excellent commercial negotiation and contract drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage key commercial alliances, including partnerships and joint ventures.
• Serve as a thought partner to the executive team in commercial strategy and product development.
• Lead deal structuring to navigate constraints and develop creative solutions.
• Draft and negotiate transportation equipment services agreements.
• Oversee commercial contract offerings, including forms updates and versioning.
• Support RFP responses for vehicle electrification-as-a-service.
• Draft and negotiate LOIs, teaming agreements, license/lease agreements.
• Provide business-minded guidance on contract-related issues.
• Assist with pilots in product development and R&D.
• Support energy optimization projects and related services.
• Supervise one or more attorney(s) and/or legal professionals.
