Job summary

Opus Lex Partners in Atlanta seeks a Commercial Counsel / Legal Director for North America to guide strategic decisions and scale a lean legal team.

You will advise senior leaders across sales, services, and marketing, oversee commercial contracts, and drive initiatives in data, AI, fintech, and payments while collaborating with our global legal organization.

Commercial Counsel | Legal Director, North America

Atlanta, Georgia | Hybrid: 3 days in office

Opus Lex Partners is partnering with a global technology company in the search for an ambitious commercial lawyer ready to help shape business strategy across a growing international organization.

Based in Atlanta, the Legal Director will serve as a trusted adviser to the North American leadership team while leading a lean legal function consisting of two Senior Legal Counsel, a junior attorney and a paralegal.

The Opportunity

• Advise senior leaders across sales, services, marketing and other go-to-market functions
• Oversee commercial contracting across enterprise sales, technology partnerships and channel programs
• Provide practical guidance on data, AI, fintech, payments and emerging product initiatives
• Support M&A due diligence, post-acquisition remediation and integration
• Manage partner issues, customer disputes and competitor advertising matters
• Collaborate with legal colleagues around the world on multinational projects
• Develop and protect a talented legal team while maintaining high standards of service
• Introduce automation, technology and smarter processes to improve legal delivery
