Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent for our commercial projects division in Washington, DC. This on-site, permanent role offers a salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 per year and the opportunity to lead ground-up retail, grocery and automotive builds.

You will oversee all project stages, manage subcontractors, coordinate with clients and architects, ensure safety and building-code compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction management or related field.
• Proven experience leading commercial construction projects from start to finish.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control, and safety.
• Excellent understanding of local building codes and regulations.
• Problem-solving under pressure with good decision-making.
• Proven scheduling and budgeting capabilities.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in risk management and contract administration.
• Degree preferred in construction-related field; certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of the project life cycle within the planned timeline and budget.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules and adjust as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections for code compliance and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors and laborers to maximize productivity.
• Maintain a safe, clean job site with established safety protocols.
• Resolve issues and delays on the construction site promptly.
• Communicate progress with clients, architects, and stakeholders.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Handle contract administration including negotiation and management.
