Job summary

Insight Recruitment is helping a respected Lincoln-based general contractor find a Senior Commercial Construction Estimator. This role goes beyond creating estimates and focuses on improving processes and shaping the estimating and preconstruction function, with autonomy and future leadership opportunities.

You will prepare detailed estimates for a variety of commercial projects, visit sites, coordinate with subcontractors, and help drive efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of commercial estimating experience with a General Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with estimating software and digital construction tools is desirable.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for a wide variety of commercial projects.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and subcontractor coordination.
• Visit project sites to understand scope and requirements.
• Improve estimating systems, workflows, and efficiency.
• Lead or participate in handoffs from preconstruction to operations.
• Support leadership in shaping department direction.

What You'll Be Doing

Initially, your primary focus will be commercial estimating and preconstruction while working closely with operations, project management, finance, and business development.

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

• Prepare detailed estimates for a wide variety of commercial projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and subcontractor coordination.
• Visit project sites to better understand scope and project requirements.
• Improve estimating systems, workflows, and overall efficiency.
• Introduce new ideas and technology that strengthen the estimating process.
• Help ensure seamless project handoffs from preconstruction into operations.
