Job summary

Building Maintenance Systems, Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lead Commercial Building Engineer. You will perform building operations, provide customer service, and support community enhancements in a busy commercial building.

The role covers electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other trades with a focus on preventive maintenance, service tickets, and tenant safety. On-site work with the property management team offers opportunities for advancement and growth.

Qualifications

3-5 years maintaining equipment and systems in commercial buildings.
Demonstrated high-level mechanical skills and abilities with HVAC equipment.
High-level experience and skills in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment.
Basic technology skills to manage work order applications on mobile phone and learn to operate Building Automation Systems.
Must communicate effectively in English.
Occasionally work overtime for off-hours repairs or maintenance.
Must meet occupation requirements such as lifting 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must possess a CFC Universal certification.

Responsibilities

Perform building and systems inspections, making necessary modifications to building systems.
Complete Preventive and Corrective Maintenance requests professionally.
Work with vendors to complete contracted work orders to meet expectations.
Maintain records, reports, and evaluations, and provide recommendations regarding necessary building maintenance operations.
Identify and help order parts, materials, equipment, and supplies that are needed.
Manage Building Management System (BMS) / Energy Management System (EMS) as directed by Lead/Chief Engineer.
Maintain a clean engineering shop, mechanical plant, mechanical rooms, and general appearance.
Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Perform related work as required.
