Job summary

ONE80 Intermediaries Inc. is seeking a Commercial Auto Underwriter to join our Transportation division. You will perform risk selection and pricing on endorsements, renewals, and new business within established guidelines, working remotely from a home office.

Requirements include a minimum of five years in Transportation underwriting in a multi-state, multi-line environment, strong ISO class knowledge, and pricing acumen. The role offers a salary range of $90,000–$150,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Transportation Underwriter in a multi-state and multi-line commercial insurance environment.
• Remote/home office 100% of the time is required if not local to the Greater Cleveland area.
• Strong technical P&C underwriting knowledge focused on Commercial Auto.
• Advanced knowledge of ISO commercial class codes and CLM rules, forms, rating and regulatory requirements.
• Very strong knowledge of underwriting and pricing principles.

Responsibilities

• Assess and price endorsements, renewals, and new business according to guidelines and authority.
• Underwrite lines including general liability, auto liability, physical damage, umbrella/excess, property, crime, cargo.
• Provide customer service by responding promptly to information requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and issuance of policies.
• Potential delegation of tasks to an underwriting assistant.
• Communicate standards and requirements to brokers.
• Document underwriting thought process and file notes clearly.
• Order/review inspection reports to assess risk quality and exposure.
• Manage relationships with assigned brokers and agents.
