Brown & Brown, a leading insurance broker, seeks a Senior Commercial Account Manager to join our Carpinteria-based team. You will work in a support capacity to the Producer, handling complex commercial accounts, renewals, and client-facing meetings while driving midyear coverage reviews to enhance client experience.

The role requires autonomous work, extensive knowledge of insurance, and comfortable interaction with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) License required.
  • Insurance brokerage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned book of business in accordance with Brown & Brown policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Monthly New/Renewal Meetings.
  • Renewal processing and submissions; coordinate process.
  • Market and submit for quotes; provide renewals support to producers.
  • Coordinate with TA on certifications, ID cards, and policy documents.
  • Handle renewal and new business processing, including invoicing and envelopes.
  • Assist with client requests, producer assistance, and account management.
  • Train new technical assistants on policies and procedures; perform final audits.

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Commercial Account Manager to join our growing team!

The Senior Commercial Account Manager functions in a support capacity to the Producer by performing duties requiring a high degree of technical expertise. This position requires the ability to work autonomously in performing duties requiring extensive knowledge and understanding of the insurance field. This position is characterized by the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in organizing, scheduling and performing the work generated by the portion of the book of business you have been assigned to. Responsible for day-to-day direction of Technical Assistants.

This position works in concert with the producer to develop new business opportunities and provides high level renewal support, including renewal and new business client facing meetings. Work to develop strategic support to the sales producer in order to create midyear coverage reviews and proactive communications to enhance the client experience.

Essential Duties and Functions:
  • Oversee assigned book of business in accordance with Brown & Brown policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Monthly New/Renewal Meetings
  • Renewal Processing
  • Create renewal submissions - Coordinate process
  • Request updated underwriting information
  • Market/Submit for quotes
  • Initiate Renewal (bind, binders, invoice and bind letter)
  • New Business Processing
  • Draft/set-up applications from producer
  • Market/Submit for quote
  • Request from client a cert holder list to give to TA prior to effective date.
  • Initiate new business (bind, binders, invoice and bind letter)
  • Provide TA with binding request, policy number and writing company in order for the TA to process the certs and auto ID cards
  • Mail - Coordinate Processing
  • Handles routine incoming calls in Producer's absence; answers questions regarding client coverage and limits
  • Client / Company Requests (receive - coordinate - process)
  • Producer request for assistance (coordinate process)
  • Handle all accounting requests
  • Claims (receive - coordinate - process)
  • Policy Checking - Schedule of Insurance
  • Train new TAs on policies and procedures
  • Final Audits
  • Certificates (receive - review - coordinate)
  • Identify on Suspense list what action is needed for TA to take
  • Order MVR's
  • Follow-up with Producer to ensure Insurance Coverage Review Checklist is completed timely
  • Informs Producer of unusual activity on accounts
  • Other duties may be assigned
