Job summary

SEIU 775 is seeking a Senior Collective Bargaining & Employer Relations Specialist to advance bargaining strategies and address workplace issues in collaboration with union staff and member leaders. The role requires independent negotiation of contracts, complex grievance work, and developing leadership among members across WA, MT, and AK.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in labor relations.
• Experience independently evaluating, investigating, preparing, negotiating, and resolving complex grievances.
• Experience participating in collective bargaining negotiations and supporting negotiation strategies.
• Experience interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements and relevant labor laws.
• Experience working with union members, workplace representatives, employer representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve workplace issues.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout assigned geographic areas and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex disputes and grievances, including investigations, evaluation of contractual violations, and negotiating settlements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on contract interpretation and grievance procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues on grievance handling and contract enforcement.
• Recruit, train, and develop member Advocates in nursing homes and home care agencies to strengthen workplace representation.
• Lead collective bargaining negotiations, develop strategic recommendations, and coordinate campaigns with members and leadership.
• Represent SEIU 775 in complex employer relations discussions and labor-management initiatives.
