Job summary

Ares Enterprise in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior ColdFusion / AWS Developer to serve as the senior application development and cloud technical lead for FAA NIMS/CMIS.

The role is hands-on and focuses on maintaining, modernizing, and securing an enterprise application built on Adobe ColdFusion 2018/2023 within the FAA AWS cloud. You will analyze code, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in architecture decisions and DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years hands-on Adobe ColdFusion development experience.
• Experience with ColdFusion 2018, ColdFusion 2023, or comparable environments.
• Experience deploying or supporting applications in AWS.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Experience with source control and modern software-development practices (CI/CD).
• Knowledge of secure coding and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing ColdFusion applications.
• Analyze and become proficient with an established enterprise codebase.
• Diagnose and resolve production defects and issues.
• Develop new functionality based on FAA requirements.
• Participate in architecture decisions and design.
• Support upgrades and patches for ColdFusion and related platforms.
• Support AWS deployments and cloud management.
• Develop APIs and external integrations.
• Collaborate with Oracle/SQL developers on data-driven features.
• Perform testing: unit, integration, regression, and acceptance.
