Job summary

Bank of America in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Cognos BI Lead to architect, implement, and manage a modernized Cognos platform in a regulated environment.

You will migrate from legacy to containerized deployments, optimize performance, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver compliant BI solutions. The role requires deep experience with Cognos, OpenShift, and Linux, along with strong CI/CD discipline.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cognos BI administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience deploying Cognos Analytics on OpenShift and Linux VMs.
• Knowledge of networking, TLS/SSL, load balancing, and reverse proxies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ongoing architectural modernization.
• Experience with SOX/UCAL audits and deliveries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cognos Administrator responsible for architecture, migration from Business Objects, and full platform support for this regulated SOX/UCAL reporting environment.
• Manage the Cognos Analytics Enterprise shared environment across both legacy and containerized platforms.
• Design and execute the container POC and go-live strategy to transition from the legacy platform to a modernized architecture.
• Lead capacity planning, performance monitoring, complex issue diagnosis, major upgrades, and platform deployments.
• Mentor software engineers and coach team on CI/CD practices and automating tool stack.
• Automates manual release activities.
• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
