Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care in Charlottesville, VA (First (Days) shift). The role supports daily operations, maintains quality, and provides technical expertise within the coding team. Requires 2 years coding experience and CCS/CIC/CCA/RHIT/CPC/COC certifications; 1 year HIM experience preferred.

Remote work from VA/North Carolina may be available. Eligible candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 2 years coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations, coordinating work, quality and service.
• Serves as a technical resource for team members and participates in quality control and improvement activities.
• Facilitates and monitors the work processes of a designated team.

Overview:

Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care

Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of operating center goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements through providing technical expertise within assigned area. Serves as technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities and daily support to team members. Assists Team Coordinator/Manager in facilitating and monitoring the work process (es) of a designated team.

2 years coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required. 1 years Health Information Management experience preferred.

Virginia or North Carolina Remote preferred

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $34.92 - $50.83 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
