Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Coding Quality Analyst SME to ensure accurate coding reviews, drive compliance, and educate coders. Responsibilities include daily account reconciliations, audit management, and collaboration with coding and clinical teams.

Preferred candidates hold AHIMA/AAPC credentials and have extensive revenue cycle experience, including acute outpatient coding, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a professional coder (AHIMA and/or AAPC: CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT) kept up annually.
• 4+ years in revenue cycle operations, coding and HIM support.
• 2+ years acute outpatient coding experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform prebill reviews and resolve coding disputes.
• Conduct coding quality audits and provide coder education; maintain client coding guidelines annually.
• Support meetings, assist in agenda prep, and cover other SMEs as needed.
• Keep coding quality workflows moving and assist in issue resolution with education and guidance.
