Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a DRC Coding Auditor to join the Denial Resource Center. You will review and audit coding-related denials, develop appeal strategies, and collaborate with RCM teams to improve accuracy and reduce denials.

The role requires advanced knowledge of inpatient/outpatient coding and payer policies, with responsibilities spanning research, documentation, and communication of findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of coding, audits, denial management, or revenue cycle experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, DRG practices, and payer policies.
• Experience reviewing and appealing denials for HB and PB claims.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit coding-related denials and develop appeal strategies.
• Investigate and appeal complex HB and PB denials including DRG downgrades.
• Prepare concise, compliant appeal documentation with supporting evidence.
• Research and validate coding positions; communicate recommendations clearly.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify denial trends and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor deadlines and payer responses to ensure timely resolutions.
