Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Code Compliance Project Manager to join our Mid-Atlantic Building Science + Infrastructure team in Chantilly, VA. This role combines project management, technical oversight, client interaction, and field and office responsibilities across diverse public and private sector projects.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Mechanical Engineer with a strong code compliance background, ready to lead complex programs, mentor colleagues, and serve as a technical

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of related experience in code compliance inspection of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months; Mechanical PE strongly preferred.
• DHCD & ICC Certifications strongly preferred; if not current, ability to achieve certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Manage code compliance projects, including reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, and preparing field reports.
• Monitor project performance and budget; prepare proposals; attend site meetings; resolve technical and administrative problems.
• Mentor and train junior building inspectors to build a stronger team.
• Oversee code compliance inspections and high-classification reviews; supervise field oversight of inspectors when needed.
• Market code compliance consulting services to public and private sector clients; contribute to invoicing and final reports.
