ECS Group of Companies (ECS) in Wilmington, NC seeks an experienced Building Inspector to perform third‑party inspections across electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety systems. The role includes project management of code compliance projects, plan reviews, site inspections, and coordinating with clients to ensure regulatory adherence.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 5+ years in code compliance inspection, at least one ICC certification

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
5+ years of code compliance inspection experience.
At least one ICC certification (B2, M2, P2, E2).
Ability to obtain NC Code Officials Qualification Board Building Inspector Level I within 90 days; Level II preferred.
Valid driver''s license required.

Responsibilities

Perform third-party inspections across electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
Prepare and submit daily time and Inspection/Field Reports in accordance with ECS Policy.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures.
Lead project management of code compliance projects, including plans review, site meetings, and client coordination.
Mentor and train other building inspectors; assist with marketing and business development activities related to code inspections.
