Job summary
Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to act as the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You will review and write coating specifications and inspection plans, investigate failures, audit applicators and suppliers, supervise junior inspectors, and advise owners and engineers on coating systems and quality requirements.
You bring AMPP CIP Level 3 certification and 8+ years in coatings inspection, including supervision; PCS is a plus, with broad industry
Qualifications
- AMPP CIP Level 3 certification is required and currently active.
- 8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision.
- Coating failure investigation experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
- Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, and written findings.
- Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
- Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors and calibrate acceptance standards.
- Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection and maintenance planning.
