Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Texas seeks a Coatings Inspector III, the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You review and write coating specifications and inspection and test plans, investigate coating failures, audit applicators and coating suppliers, and advise owners and engineers on coating system selection and quality requirements.

This role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3, 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision, and strong failure-analysis

Qualifications

AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification current.
8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision.
Exposure to coatings across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure.
Experience writing specifications and findings that stand up to owners and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
Investigate coating failures: field eval, sampling, lab coordination, and written findings.
Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors across projects; calibrate acceptance standards.
Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning.
