Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a senior Coatings Inspector III to oversee protective coatings on projects. You will review specifications, plans and quality requirements, and lead investigations into coating failures, coordinating labs and field sampling.

You will audit applicators, qualify subcontractors, and guide engineers on coating systems and maintenance planning, supporting project owners with durable, code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification required.
• Coating failure investigation experience.
• AMPP Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, written finding.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; advise owners and engineers on systems.
