Job summary

Construction Materials Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to serve as the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You will review specifications, lead inspections, and advise on coating system selection while supervising Level 1 and 2 inspectors.

You will investigate failures, coordinate lab work, audit applicators, and mentor teams. Strong candidates hold CIP Level 3, PCS preferred, and broad experience across industrial and infrastructure coatings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision.
• Certification: AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 current.
• Experience with coating failure investigations and spec writing.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, lab coordination, and findings.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
• Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
• Advise owners and engineers on coating systems, service life, and maintenance.
