Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III, the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You will review and write coating specifications and inspection plans, investigate failures, audit applicators, supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors, and advise owners and engineers on coating systems.

This role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 with 8+ years of coatings inspection and supervisory experience; PCS preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision.
• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification, current.
• Experience in coating failure investigations and audits.
• Broad coating experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, and written findings.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
• Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
• Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection and maintenance planning.
