Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to lead and grow our coastal engineering practice along the Atlantic Seaboard. Based in West Palm Beach, FL, with flexibility to work from other Florida offices, the role calls for strong leadership, client management, and project execution across beach nourishment, shoreline stabilization, dredging, and environmental restoration.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in coastal/waterfront consulting, a PE license, and proven business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in coastal, environmental, or civil engineering (required).
• Advanced degree in coastal engineering or closely related field (preferred).
• Professional Engineer license (required).
• At least 8 years of direct engineering consulting experience on coastal/waterfront projects (required).
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams (required).
• Proven leadership and detail orientation (required).
• Business development and project management experience (required).
• Experience with coastal engineering software such as Waves, Littoral Transport, Sedimentation (preferred).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Develop business and manage clients and projects in coastal projects such as beach nourishment and shoreline stabilization.
• Manage projects including investigations, planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Plan and coordinate detailed phases of coastal engineering work in marine projects.
• Mentor junior staff and manage subcontractors.
• Develop work plans, evaluate data, and write reports.
• Review and manage written document production.
• Prepare for and participate in client and regulatory meetings.
• Fieldwork up to 20% and overnight travel up to 20%.
