Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment including multi-axis mills and lathes to finish high-precision aluminum die cast components.
• Load G-code programs, adjust tool offsets, and modify processes to maintain tight tolerances.
• Diagnose surface finish defects and dimensional variations related to tooling or fixtures.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth indicators, and CMM reports.
• Replace worn tools and monitor tool life to prevent scrap and downtime.
• Support daily machine care, coolant management, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate process records including production counts and tool wear.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

• Set Up & Operate CNC Equipment: Perform setups and changeovers on multi-axis CNC mills and lathes used to finish high-precision aluminum die cast components.
• Manage Programs & Offsets: Load G-code programs, adjust tool offsets, and make real-time process modifications to ensure tight part tolerances.
• Troubleshoot Quality & Tooling: Diagnose surface finish defects, dimensional variations, and chatter caused by tool wear, fixture misalignment, or material inconsistencies.
• Perform Quality Inspections: Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, height gages, depth indicators, and CMM inspection reports.
• Execute Tooling Maintenance: Replace worn cutting tools, carbide inserts, drills, and taps while monitoring tool life to prevent scrap and downtime.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance: Support routine daily machine care, coolant fluid management, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Maintain Process Records: Log production counts, quality control metrics, tool wear records, and setup adjustments accurately.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Job Stability Required: Demonstrated career stability with a strict requirement of at least 2+ years of tenure at each previous employer.
• CNC Machining Experience: Proven hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining centers in a production environment (aluminum machining or casting experience preferred).
• Technical Blueprint & Measurement Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret engineering drawings, and proficiently use precision hand inspection tools.
• Commutable Radius: Must reside within a 45-minute maximum commute of the Cedarburg / Greater Milwaukee, WI area.
• Education & Authorization: High School Diploma or GED required; technical/vocational machining credentials preferred. Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)

• GD&T & CMM Data: Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and interpreting CMM quality data.
